where do babies come from?
so today, my one of my curious wee kumoners asked me this very question. We had been talking about bird eggs when he demanded to know where babies came from. "umm...uhh....they grow big in your mommy's tummy....?!?" But how do they come OUT? do they get ripped open from the stomach?? to whch another bright kumoner replied with a straight face"no, they get pooped out" i nearly died laughing.
unfortunately, i didnt feel it my place to educate them with the old birds and bees story (does anyone KNOW why its the birds and the bess anyways??) so i hastily directed their attention elsewhere. any tips in case this very scenario occurs in the future?

that's priceless. oh boy i would have died if i were there.
yes to going to Lane's tomorrow. i think we're all (from this house) going. you and dan?
wow. that is awkward! hahaha.
good question though, why do people say "birds and the bees"?? i always thought that perhaps it has something to do with pollenation but i'm still unsure of how that works. if you ever find out, let me know!
WELL susanna, since I have mucho experienco with children, I will help you with this. LOL i'm just kidding but whenever I get that question I usually say "I think your mom and dad would know more about it than I would. Why don't we BOTH ask them when they come, okay?"
it is totally not your place to tell them where babies come from because
1) you dont know what the parents want them to hear
2) who are you to tell them about the greatest biological experience in the whole wide world?
i would get mucho angry if joe blow told my kids where babies come from and how they get there. MUCHO angry!
eric! where the eff have you been?
har har. you want us BOTH to ask their parents where babies come from?? a-w-k-w-a-r-d
Of course both of you would ask, but you wouldn't ask personally. you would just be there when the parents came. it'd be like moral support.
kids often respond more to "why don't WE clean up that mess" rather than "why dont YOU clean up that mess?".
and jenny, i have been around. (haha as par usuale) but i never see you at school cause i go to BBY campus MTWF and you only go W?
good luck on your exam susanna. you have nothing to worry about - i just found out (from you) that's it's mostly bio - which you're great at...since you're being a doctor..sooner or later...
I'm going to write a documentary. It's called "Babies: The Greatest Biological Experience in the World."
Do you think it is even better then cellular resparation?
just give the kids one of those education books. Pictures explain everything
still wanna hang on the drive tomorrow night???
teehee... i'll call you in the afternoon!
